This renovated farmhouse, nestled between a lazy pond and graceful rolling fields, is a special second home for the family. Many festive events are celebrated here and these memories are priceless.
The plan was to design rooms that are comfortable, fun and multifunctional. Color is intended to be spirited and informal. While the dining room has seating for 20, it was designed to allow for other options. Using contemporary tables that fold, along with antique chairs adds that curious mix these clients love. Noguchi paper lanterns can be unplugged and removed from the ceiling, giving the homeowner the option of hanging a piñata for a kid’s birthday party. They are a blend of something that is handcrafted with a modern form.
In the craft room, an antique farm table paired with contemporary chairs works well for all of the fun projects completed there. As always the right original artwork completes the distinctive custom look. The contradiction of an updated palette in an historical house is the perfect balance for this home.
